Traditional utility meter displays consumption value on the meter itself, the utility providers have to give periodic trips to each

physical location to record tho meter. Manual data collection and management is very expensive, inefficient and probably having

human error. An automatic reading system has been developed that allows the reading of the meter to be done electronically instead of manually. This is called the Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) technology. 

 

Automatic Meter Reading is a kind of data collection and processing technology, by means of system network and interface units, it is capable to collect data on consumption, diagnostic and status data from water gas meters or electric meters and to transfer all concerned information to a central database for billing, troubleshooting and analyzing.
